What is Decorative Painting?

A versatile and functional art form that enhances the beauty and utility of everyday objects and spaces. It has been around for many years in many countries. My mom called it “tole painting.”

A design is provided and you learn to paint giving it color, shape, value and dimension.

We will be painting items for your home or gifts to share with others.

BEWARE, it is very addicting!

Medium

We will be using DecoArt Americana acrylic paints. They are widely available in art stores and online.

Susan and Bonnie are DecoArt Helping Artist.

Surfaces

Use surfaces of your choice, ranging from wood, canvas, metal or fabric. Part of the fun is the hunt for a surface. Check your local thrift stores to find great one of a kind surfaces. Many new surfaces can be found online and in craft stores.

If it stands still long enough, it can be painted!
